Dialpad, Ada Combine to Expand AI Agents Beyond Customer Service

Dialpad and Ada are combining their technologies, pairing Dialpad's cloud communications platform with Ada's AI agent capabilities. The stated goal is to push AI past simply handling customer interactions and toward actually resolving customer issues end to end.

The Details

Each company brings a different half of the stack:

  • Dialpad is an AI-powered cloud communications provider covering business phone, contact center, and meetings, with AI features built into its voice platform.
  • Ada built its name on AI agents that automate customer service conversations across digital and voice channels.

The pitch is that communications infrastructure and agentic AI work better as one system than as separate tools stitched together. The emphasis on resolution over interaction matters here. Answering, routing, and summarizing calls is now table stakes. The harder problem is completing the task: updating the account, processing the request, or closing the ticket without a human stepping in.

Why This Matters for Service Providers

This deal reflects a broader shift. Voice platforms and AI agent platforms are converging, and buyers will increasingly expect both from one vendor. For telecom resellers selling UCaaS or CCaaS, an AI agent layer is becoming part of the core offering, not an optional add-on.

For MSPs, the "resolution" framing raises the bar. Clients will soon compare any AI voice deployment against agents that take action, not ones that only take messages. Actions carry more risk than messages. An agent that can change records or commit to outcomes needs clear guardrails, review processes, and defined escalation paths. Our guide on how to QA an AI voice agent covers that ground.

There is also a competitive angle. Large, integrated platforms like a combined Dialpad and Ada will target mid-market and enterprise buyers directly. That leaves room for service providers who can deliver similar outcomes to SMB clients under their own brand, with local support and vertical-specific setup. The opportunity is to own the client relationship before a direct-sale vendor does.

Looking Ahead

Watch for how the combined offering is priced and packaged, and whether it opens a channel program or stays mostly direct. In the meantime, MSPs and resellers without an AI voice offering should consider launching a branded one now, while client expectations are still taking shape.
